UPLIFT Yoga Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring teens to live with an overall sense of well-being and wholeness. UPLIFT Teen Yoga is the culmination of extensive research and experience with teens. Our team is comprised of passionate individuals brought together by a collective vision to inspire teens to connect with their best selves and bring their intentions to life.
UPLIFT Teen Yoga has been growing steadily since 2012, and we are ecstatic to expand across Orange County and beyond. We look forward to offering retreats, a masters program, and eventually a boys program as well.
- UPLIFT Yoga Foundation Founder
Erica is continually amazed at the many ways that yoga, mindfulness and intention can elevate life from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Following the tragic loss of her brother while they were attending OSU together, she felt her inner voice lovingly urging her to help others in his memory. She became one of the nation's top college speakers on substance abuse prevention, and in 2006 she founded the non-profit organization, Keep Friendship Alive. She made a significant impact across the country, and Joey's story ultimately saved many lives. Erica's mission naturally evolved into UPLIFT Yoga Foundation. Through UPLIFT Teen Yoga, we can inspire teens at a younger age and help them thrive through adolescence and into adulthood. Erica lives in Laguna Beach with her husband and two awesome kiddos, and her favorite hobby is taking photos of them.

In 2014, Camilla partnered with Erica to manifest their shared dream of a teen yoga program. Camilla's passion to work with teens was inspired by her own teenage experience with the "mean girl world" here in OC. This struggle led her to make teen outreach a constant in her adult life, including 10 cherished years as a lead mentor to high school girls in youth ministry. In 2012, Camilla became a certified yoga instructor, left her corporate fashion career, and dedicated her life's work to teaching yoga and mindfulness. She has loved seeing the benefits of this practice come to life with her youth group in addition to teens in recovery. In her free time, Camilla loves snuggling with her baby boy, cooking with her husband, and hanging at the beach in Dana Point.
- UPLIFT Teen Yoga Senior Mentor
Kelsey is one of Orange County's leading yoga teacher trainers. With a degree in psychology, she focuses on how yoga is a practice of the mind. She has extensive training in sharing yoga with unique populations including at risk youth and trauma survivors. Kelsey fell in love with yoga in 2006, and it was the beautiful beginning of connecting with herself in a way that made her feel powerful and courageous. Kelsey is UPLIFT's social media guru and has her own devoted following on Instagram and Facebook where she shares yoga philosophy teachings and inspiration. She loves curling up with a book alongside her husband, daughter and puppy.
- UPLIFT Teen Yoga Mentor
Avery discovered yoga in college as a way to quiet her mind and find her center. She marveled at the way yoga and meditation helped her to access her inner power and peace, and she realized the many ways her teen life would have been benefited from these amazing practices. After working in her corporate career for a few years after college, Avery knew she wanted to find an outlet to inspire teen girls. She is so excited to be a guiding mentor for UPLIFT Teen Yoga, and she looks forward to sharing her wisdom, joy and silliness with our teens. Avery loves spending time with her two dogs and fiancé in her new home in Costa Mesa.

Lena found yoga in 2013 after retiring from her career in classical ballet. She had attended boarding school for dance from the ages of 14 to 17. This experience strengthened her but also made her face difficult challenges such as extreme criticism and eating disorders. Yoga helped immensely with restoring her self-worth, and this inspired her to pursue yoga and physical therapy as a career. Lena is so grateful for the opportunity to teach mindful practices to teens in Orange County through UPLIFT Teen Yoga. Her favorite pastimes include backpacking and laughing with her best friends.
"Follow your bliss” is Elyse’s theme in life, and her energy, enthusiasm and passion are contagious. Elyse was a TV news anchor and sideline reporter in the NBA for eight years, and now she is a communications and journalism professor at California State University Fullerton. She also adores teaching her yoga classes in Orange County. During her own teen years, Elyse struggled with frequent hospital visits, surgeries and wheelchairs due to a complication with her hip. Elyse’s strong will and optimism helped her to thrive through a very difficult time, and she is a natural cheerleader for our teens. In Elyse’s spare time, she loves to travel the globe and visit her family in Texas.
